From June 1 to 3, the first certification training for Yancheng Yellow Sea Wetland nature education instructors was held at the Yellow Sea Wetland Museum. Hosted by Yancheng Wetland and Natural World Heritage Conservation and Management Center and guided by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre (Asia-Pacific) Suzhou Branch, the event gathered nearly 100 trainees from the Yangtze River Delta.
Renowned experts, scholars and senior practitioners gave lectures. The courses showcased the wetland’s ecological value as China’s first coastal wetland World Heritage and the world’s first heritage site for migratory bird protection, alongside practical guidance on curriculum design and base operation.
The training helped trainees gain new insights. They pledged to protect and promote the heritage. Certification results will be released on the official website of the Migratory Bird Sanctuaries along the Coast of Yellow Sea-Bohai Gulf of China (Phase I). The local authority will build an instructor talent pool to advance the sustainable development of the world heritage.
