The 48th World Heritage Committee Session runs from July 19 to 29, 2026 in Busan, South Korea. A special exhibition featuring China‘s Yellow (Bohai) Sea Serial Migratory Bird Habitats is drawing attention, showcasing coastal wetland conservation achievements from both China and South Korea through photographs, texts and videos.
The exhibition illustrates the site’s Outstanding Universal Value (OUV), conservation work by the Yancheng Wetland and Natural World Heritage Conservation and Management Center, cross-border cooperation results including a signed MOU with Korean Tidal Flats Promotion Team, and local ecological restoration cases. It also screens Yancheng wetland promotional videos and the photo exhibition Living in Harmony with Wetlands.
On July 25, a side event Flying Beyond Borders: Conserving the Yellow Sea Tidal Flats through TransboundaryCooperation on the East Asian-Australasian Flyway will be co-hosted by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Yancheng heritage center and Korean Tidal Flats Promotion Team. Experts will exchange ideas on joint protection for millions of migratory birds.
